Facilities and Vehicles
Welcome to the Glen House Food Pantry!
Our name reflects our roots in Glen Ellyn as well as our Pantry at a renovated house on Park Blvd., on the campus of Faith Lutheran Church. We welcome our neighbors-in-need who live, work, and attend school in DuPage County, Illinois.
With two locations and two Pantry vehicles, we are serving the increasing needs of our community.
Our Facilities
Food Pantry
55 N. Park Blvd.
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
The Pantry outgrew our original home at Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Glen Ellyn where we were founded in 1979 and needed additional space to better serve neighbors. In 2019, the Pantry was gifted a 100-year-old parsonage from Faith Lutheran Church at 55 N. Park Blvd. The new location offered expanded, accessible space closer to the Roosevelt Road corridor and public transportation. That year, the Pantry launched a capital campaign to fund renovations, surpassing our $900,000 goal by March 2021.
In August 2023, the Pantry moved into our ADA-compliant new home, featuring 5,609 square feet of space and a two-story warehouse. The facility includes a history display with a time capsule, and a Recognition Tree honoring the donors who made the project possible.
Snack Center
800 N. Roosevelt Rd.
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Sponsored by the Joe and Jessica Schneider Family
As the number of neighbors in-need grew, so did the Pantry’s need for additional space. A 3,000 square foot warehouse located a few blocks from the Pantry became our new Snack Center in January 2026. This satellite location is used to store nutritious snacks for our many youth program partnerships and became the new home of the SnackPack program. The Glen Ellyn Kiwanis lead volunteers who pack 800+ bags of nutritious snacks a week that are distributed through social workers at nearly 30 DuPage County schools to children for consumption over the weekend when they have no access to free meals.
Our Vehicles
Refrigerated Van
Grant from DuPage County’s Food Pantry Infrastructure Investment Program
Wrap sponsored by the Joe and Jessica Schneider Family
The Pantry’s moving billboard made its debut in August 2024. Volunteers and staff drive the van to area grocery stores and manufacturers to pick up essential food – which will now be transported in fewer trips than in volunteer cars, and in the food-safe refrigerated vehicle.
16’ Box Truck
Sponsored by the Carl and Esther Hildner Philanthropy Fund
To keep up with stocking our shelves for our growing number of neighbors who need help, the Pantry welcomed a 16-foot used box truck in December 2025 that will travels up and down Roosevelt Road picking up groceries from the Northern Illinois Food Bank and other locations.
