“Thank you so very much for all of the time and hard work that you put into making it possible for my family and I to use the pantry in order to save money for other things such as bills, Christmas presents, and other basic needs and wants. I hope that all of you have an enjoyable and wonderful holiday season!!! Celebrating with family and good company!!!”

Gifts of Stock

A gift of appreciated securities supports the work of the Glen House Food Pantry and may also offer tax advantages for you. Consult your tax advisor for advice specific to your situation. To donate stock, or for more information, please contact Director@GlenHouseFoodPantry.org or 630-469-2819.

Gift Planning

With thoughtful estate planning, you can make a lasting difference for the communities and organizations that have meant the most to you while providing for family and minimizing tax liabilities. Remember the Glen House Food Pantry with a gift through your will, a beneficiary designation from an insurance policy or retirement account, a charitable trust, or other gift or charitable component of an estate plan.

Required Minimum Distributions

If you’re age 73 or older, the IRS requires you to take RMDs from your IRA each year. You can turn that required withdrawal into a powerful gift to the Food Pantry. The maximum allocation is $100,000. Allocations can reduce taxable income.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts

You may make a donation in HONOR or MEMORY of a loved one, friend or family member. You can do this as an individual or recommend donations to the Food Pantry from others in obituaries. We’ll make sure your gift is acknowledged to the person or family you choose.

Donor Advised Funds

A DAF is like a charitable checking account, with donors’ tax considerations impacting the year the funds are directed to the DAF. Funds given to a DAF are irrevocable, are invested and earnings are tax-free.  They may be held long-term with no required allocations. Only two items of information are required to recommend a gift to the Glen House Food Pantry:

  1. 1. Legal Name: Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Inc.

  2. 2. EIN: 36-3423123
